Gilles and Renaud, emblematic candidates of season 19 of Love is in the meadow – the first part of which will be broadcast on November 25 on M6 – were the guests of the Buzz TV of Figaro Friday November 8. The opportunity, for the two friends, to express themselves about their contenders and to remember the beginnings of their participation in this edition of the rural program hosted by Karine le Marchand. An edition, let us remember, left along the way by three of their colleagues even before broadcast. They were also encouraged to comment on the choices made by production at the start of the show.

Gilles incisive on the first seasons of Love is in the meadow : “It didn’t represent the farmers”

Journalist Damien Canivez asked the two participants to Love is in the meadow if the successful rural dating had, according to them, contributed to changing viewers’ perceptions of the rural world and its actors. A question to which Gilles answered in the affirmative, before qualifying his point of view by issuing certain criticisms. “Yes, but it’s true that at the start, it was perhaps a little hard”he said, choosing his words carefully. “There were years when farmers were not very… I’m not going to say ‘evolved’, but hey… it was hard”he observed. “It didn’t really represent the majority of farmers”he then summarized.

Renaud (Love is in the meadow) more magnanimous: “We have to accept it”

A point of view that Renaud tried to temper. “Yes, well, you should know that certain structures, certain operations, have evolved a lot”estimated the Mayennais, perceived as endearing by several viewers, on the set of Buzz TV. “There are others who are happy as they are”he philosophized, wanting to smooth out the angles. “It’s rurality. We must accept farmers in their environment as it is”he summarized, without losing his smile. “Exactly, they are making us eat the farmers. We realized this recently with the crisis”concluded the journalist. You are right.”
