Morocco is preparing to take a leap into the world of sports broadcasting with the launch of four new channels dedicated exclusively to sport. This decision, validated by the High Authority for Audiovisual Communication (HACA)responds to growing public expectations for more exhaustive coverage of the national and regional sports scene. These new channels, called Arryadia 2, Arryadia 3, Arryadia 4 et Arryadia 5will expand the offering of the Arryadia channel, until now the only one to take on this mission.

The development of this television offering aims to respond to criticism regarding the sometimes incomplete coverage of local and regional competitions. The objective is clear. This involves offering a media space dedicated to the various sporting events taking place in the kingdom, but also broadening access to less publicized disciplines such as women’s football or certain local competitions. For Moroccan sports fans, the arrival of these new channels represents an opportunity to attend regular broadcasts and discover a wider range of sporting events.

This launch coincides with a period of great sporting excitement for Morocco, which is preparing to host several major events. First of all, the 2025 African Cup of Nations, scheduled from December 21, 2025 to January 18, 2026, will return to Moroccan soil. At the same time, Morocco positions itself as a central player in the organization of international competitions, including two editions of the Women’s CAN, the Women’s Under-17 World Cupand the prestigious 2030 World Cup in partnership with Spain and Portugal. The new channels will therefore have the mission of guaranteeing complete and exclusive coverage of these events, which will strengthen the attractiveness of Morocco as a host country for sporting events.

Beyond major competitions, the new Arryadia channels will also be dedicated to promoting lesser-known disciplines and supporting emerging talents. Women’s sports, often relegated to the background, will thus benefit from a stronger showcase. This focus on various disciplines could also encourage the development of other sports, while contributing to better visibility of Moroccan athletes, who often struggle to make themselves known on the international scene due to lack of sufficient media coverage.

The launch of these new sports television channels is not limited to a simple expansion of the audiovisual offer. It is also about promoting the image of Morocco as a welcoming nation passionate about sport. With the proliferation of leading sporting events in the kingdom, this initiative supports the Moroccan strategy aimed at establishing its presence and influence on the international sporting scene.

At the same time, this diversification of the media offering could stimulate the Moroccan audiovisual sector by creating new opportunities for media professionals and increasing investments in the production of local content. Morocco, already a pioneer in many fields in North Africa, seems ready to also assert itself as a hub for televised sport.
