A former reality TV show contestant Occupation DoubleYury Feuiltault, admitted Monday his guilt to one count of assault against a woman.
While his trial was to begin at the Quebec courthouse, the 35-year-old man instead decided to settle his case by pleading guilty.
The facts occurred a few years after his appearance on the popular show. The Quebec resident made himself known to the Quebec public in 2017, during a stint which, however, only lasted a few episodes, Occupation Double Bali.
An order granted at the request of the public prosecutor prohibits the publication of any information which would identify the victim.
Two episodes
According to the factual framework presented by the Crown prosecutor, Me Élizabeth Gallant, two episodes with violent gestures are blamed on Feuiltault.
During the first event, he allegedly hit the victim’s arm “with violence”, then pushed her to the ground while he was intoxicated by alcohol.
During the second, he allegedly grabbed her by the coat and spread her legs while telling her “I’m going to beat the shit out of you.”
Until the assault charge was filed last year, the Quebec resident had a clean criminal record, according to court records.
Presentence report
Since his move to Occupation DoubleFeuiltault notably maintains his Instagram account, where he is followed by 15,000 subscribers.
The preparation of a pre-sentence report by a probation officer was requested to enlighten the court on his profile and to feed Judge Christian Boulet’s reflection on the sentence to be imposed on him.
The lawyers will present their arguments at the sentencing hearing, which has been scheduled for next March.
