A notable false connection is observed in episode 5, where a corpse seems to move after a fall, raising questions among the spectators.
One theory suggests that this false connection could be a deliberate Easter egg, reflecting different perspectives according to Gomez and Morticia’s flashbacks, in the style of Akira Kurosawa’s “Rashomon – The Pleasure Forest”.

Wednesday (Netflix): a corpse that moves
In episode 5, we return to the time when Wednesday’s parents, Gomez, played by Luis Guzmanand Morticia, played by Catherine Zeta-Jones, were still attending Nevermore Academy. The character played by the 21-year-old actress goes through old files on a murder charge against his father. The family patriarch was accused of murdering Normie Garret Gates, played by Lewis Hayes.
In this episode, we see Normie Garret Gates fell from scaffolding twice after a sword strike. Except that by falling down, on different sequences, we see that the corpse has moved. However, the victim was supposed to die after the fall. So he couldn’t move!
Wednesday (Netflix): a deliberate error?
The site Filmstarts.de puts forward a theory according to which this false connection wouldn’t be one. It would be a sort of Easter egg that the production would have deliberately implemented. How ? The site explains that the two scenes come from two different flashbacks. One being Gomez’s and the other being Morticia’s. It would therefore be entirely possible that the scenes differ depending on the point of view.
To illustrate its theory, the site takes the example of Akira Kurosawa’s masterpiece Rashomon – The Pleasure Forest. This work takes into account the summary of different witnesses on the same crime. Each story comes with different angles and different details. Plausible or not, this is an explanation that will surely satisfy those who are not fans of fake connections.
