Mathieu marked season 15 of Love is in the meadow, notably thanks to his passionate love story with Alexandre, whom he had proposed to marry at the time of the assessment. The couple celebrated their union alongside Karine Le Marchand and other farmers in June 2021, almost a year after their meeting. Together, they embarked on a GPA (surrogacy) project in the hope of becoming parents. After their divorce in September 2022, Mathieu, who had dreamed of becoming a father for several years, continued the process alone to become the father of little Ezio, born in Bogotá in Colombia.
