The first episode was broadcast in 1994, so 30 years ago. The American fast food chain McDonald’s is celebrating this anniversary with a special Happy Meal box for adults.

And the menu will also have its figurines.

As reported by the American entertainment portal “Deadline”, the box, usually aimed at children, contains the usual menu, as well as small collectible figurines representing the six characters. There’s a special sauce: “Monica’s Marinara,” named after Monica Geller, played by Courtney Cox.

“Friends” Happy Meals in Switzerland?

But some fans may be disappointed: the special anniversary box set is currently only available in Spain. According to the “Deadline” article, the reason for this choice is not clear, nor is it clear whether the menu will also be offered elsewhere.

When questioned, a spokesperson for McDonald’s Switzerland indicates that the action is not planned in our country. The commercial can at least be viewed on YouTube. We see Spanish actors in the role of “Friends”. And there, instead of “How do you doin’?”, McDonald’s Joey naturally asks “Como va eso?”

Meanwhile, the American channel HBO Max, which bought the broadcast rights to the series from Netflix in 2019 for $425 million, continues to raise money with “Friends”.
