The world of television can sometimes be unforgiving, and sometimes strong personalities settle scores in public, right on set. This is what happened during the last show bringing together Christophe Dechavanne and Thierry Ardisson. And faced with the acidity of the words of the man in black, the production preferred to erase all traces of this pass of arms…

Christophe Dechavanne has (almost) never been so talked about, and he could do without it. While some rumors already promise him to be ousted from “Quelle Epoque”, the program which allowed him to return to the forefront, the former star of TF1 is standing up. But between the controversy surrounding his supposed comments about Léa Salamé, the indiscretions of his ex-partner, the vitriolic article from L’Obs on his methods, and now these rumors, Dechavanne has little or no respite.

It must be said that since his return to France 2 on Saturday evening, the famous “permanent guest” of the show has not gone unnoticed. Criticized by some for his tendency to cut people off and put himself forward, he was nevertheless supported in 2023 by Thierry Ardisson, who slipped while his counterpart was “doing rather well”. But since then, tension has severely increased between the two men.

Pass of arms cut during editing, Ardisson chars Dechavanne

In June of last year, in fact, the man in black and his wife Audrey Crespo-Mara, famous journalist on TF1, were guests of “Quelle Epoque”. But while Léa Salamé wanted to know if Dechavanne and Ardisson, two television monsters, had a good relationship, Dechavanne said:

At one time, he was saying everywhere that I wanted to beat him up, when I was ready to beat him up myself, without anyone’s help.

At 66, Christophe Dechavanne’s terrifying admission about his health: “I don’t even have…”

An attack which caused astonishment on the set and in the public, but which did not destabilize Ardisson. Straight away, Laurent Baffie’s sidekick then responded with a sentence so humiliating that the production preferred to cut this clash during editing:

You have definitely become the Patrice Carmouze of Léa Salamé.

For the youngest among you, Carmouze formed a duo with Dechavanne for a long time in the 1980s and 1990s. However, he was clearly his friend’s foil, a little clumsy, without ego, ready to accept not to be in the light and sometimes to be ridiculed. Suffice to say that the attack must have particularly stung Dechavanne, he who also confessed to having had difficulty donning the costume of “number 2” after so many years as “number 1”.

In any case, Ardisson can clearly be added to the (long) list of people who do not carry the former presenter of “Ciel, mon Mardi” in their hearts. Recently, it was Christine Bravo who had commented on his behavior at the timeexplaining that she had preferred to leave very quickly on her own.

If he obviously does not reach the incandescent level of repartee of his friend Laurent Baffie, Thierry Ardisson is more than capable of defending himself and hitting the mark when necessary. Christophe Dechavanne learned this the hard way, he who clearly emerged the loser from this confrontation in view of the production’s decision to delete the sequence…
