“Here It All Begins” Summary in advance of the episode of May 7, 2024

Antoine is consumed by guilt

In the early morning, Antoine tells his son that it is disrespectful to have posted photos of Louis in the kitchens of the Institute. Pénélope defends Souleymane, which annoys Antoine. The latter tells his son and his girlfriend that he has an idea to develop team spirit among the students.

A few minutes later, Antoine and Gaëtan challenge a small group of students: compete in a game of tug of war. Unfortunately, it is the team of Tom and Leonard who loses the game. The two young men are very disappointed and begin to argue. Antoine explains to them that there is no reason to get angry, but there is nothing to do, Tom and Leonard are very bad losers.

Antoine is disappointed that his idea did not work. He said to Penelope: “I wanted to make it up to the students and especially Emmanuel, because I blame myself for not having supported him. It’s like I stabbed him in the back.” Pénélope tries as best she can to cheer him up by reminding him of the touching speech Teyssier gave him on the day he left. In addition, she advises him to go talk to her.

Vic, chef Guinot’s little protégé

The day after her bad grade (8/20), Vic asks chef Guinot if she can start the recipe again, because she doesn’t want her general average to drop. Unfortunately, the teacher refuses, because it would not be fair to the other students.

As a result, Vic decides to train alone, on her own. While she is in the middle of preparation, Claire arrives at the studio and surprises her cooking the dish for which she got a bad grade. She asks him if she’s coping and Vic replies that she’s having a little trouble, but she’s hanging on. Chef Guinot explains to him that it is a very good approach. During the discussion with the boss, Vic confides to her that she feels behind compared to the others. Against all expectations, the professor said to him: “I can coach you from time to time outside of class. I can give you some tools to help you become a valedictorian.” The chef and the student immediately get to work.

Claire explains to Vic how to make the right sauce. She takes the opportunity to ask him how things are going at the Auguste Armand Institute. Vic reveals to him that she is a little stressed at the moment, especially because of all the twists and turns. The young woman confides to the chef that she does not blame her for having voted for Annabelle Cardone and that she finds it entirely legitimate that she wants to protect her son. Suddenly, Souleymane arrives in the kitchen and surprises Vic talking with the chef. He suggests to Vic that they go for a drink, and Claire leaves. A few minutes later, Souleymane tells Vic that his behavior leaves something to be desired. And for good reason, he has the impression that she is manipulating the boss to achieve her ends. Vic promises his friend that his approach is sincere.

Teyssier’s comeback

Kelly and Salomé go to Teyssier. When they arrive, they discover the former director in a bathrobe preparing pastries for breakfast. The surprise is there for the two young women. They tell him that she wants them to return to the race, but Emmanuel is adamant: he will not return. A few minutes later, at the Auguste Armand Institute, Malik confides to Maya that he is extremely disappointed that Teyssier refused Kelly and Salomé’s proposal. And for good reason, he was counting on the Coupe de France de Cuisine to enrich his CV. For her part, Kelly’s morale is at its lowest. Laetitia tries to cheer him up. Suddenly, Zacharie arrives and is compassionate towards the young woman, he says to her: “You deserve to represent the school”. But Kelly still holds a grudge against Zacharie. His mother asks him to be more lenient with the teacher, because he feels guilty.

For Teyssier, it is now time to relax. But does he really know how to let go? Constance pushes him to take time for himself. She asks him to lie down next to her, on a deckchair, and read a book by the pool. But Teyssier finds it difficult to relax. He tells his wife that he is having trouble digesting the fact that Cardone has taken his place. So, Constance pitches him the idea of registering for the Coupe de France de Cuisine in order to help Kelly and above all, to take her revenge on Annabelle. Will he accept?

For her part, Jasmine informs Jim that Marc keeps sending her articles from star chefs in order to push her to participate in the Coupe de France de Cuisine. The chef arrives and once again tries to change his mind:
“You are missing out on an incredible opportunity.” Jasmine explains to her boyfriend and the star chef that if Kelly had not dreamed of participating in the competition, she would have gone for it without hesitation. Will she reverse her decision? Finally, Jasmine informs Cardone that she accepts the position of chef de brigade at the Coupe de France de Cuisine. She adds that she wants Jim to be her second in the kitchen. Cardone responds that it’s a very good choice, but they need to stay focused. In addition, she asks to quickly find her kitchen assistant.

A few minutes later, Kelly arrives mad with rage at Jasmine. And for good reason, she has just discovered that her best friend was participating in the Coupe de France de Cuisine… in her place. Jasmine offers to join her squad, but Kelly can’t hide her anger. Cardone overhears the two women arguing and calls Kelly into his office. While Kelly defends her position with the new director, Teyssier arrives in the office. He informs Cardone that he is going to become Kelly’s coach. As a result, the two leaders will become rivals. Teyssier says: “We’re going to beat you fair and square, Annabelle.”
