Gherkin, scarecrow, popcorn or lemur… There is only Mask Singer that such characters can appear. While containing celebrities!
This Friday, May 3, it’s time for the investigation on TF1 which is launching the sixth season of its game mixing song and unmasking. The objective remains the same for the investigators: to find who is hiding behind the mask, only thanks to the voice and a few clues.
“Mask Singer”: a new jury which risks being surprised
A mission which will attempt to be fulfilled this year by Kev Adams and three new investigators. To accompany the 32-year-old comedian, two other comedians and a man who has worked with them for a long time: Ines Reg, Chantal Ladesou and Laurent Ruquier.
And the names to be found behind the masks could well be prestigious… or at least unexpected. During the program’s press conference at the end of February, all teams from Mask Singer agreed to increase the suspense, report our colleagues from PureMedias. “The first unmasking set the tone”indicates Rémi Faure, director of streaming programs for the TF1 group.
Same story for the host of Mask SingerCamille Combal. “No one would have imagined seeing this person under a mask of Mask Singer“ completed the one who just finished Dance with the stars. Could a political figure appear behind the mask of the pickle or the hamster? Or a renowned international star, now one of the show’s customs?
Attract more viewers
And it’s not just the names of the stars that might surprise viewers. The costumes will also be of high quality. “On two costumes, in particular, there are things that we have never seen, neither in France nor elsewhere. This year, we have notably integrated augmented reality”explained Anthony Meunier, artistic producer of the show.
Will these innovations and big promises allow the show to attract a new audience? In the fifth season, Mask Singer attracted an average of 3.2 million viewers, or even less for the grand final, won by Vincent Niclo.
For comparison, the very first launch of the show, in 2019, brought together 6.6 million curious people.
