On Thursday, September 19, 2024, the President of the Republic, Kaïs Saïed, appointed Chokri Ben Nessir as head of Tunisian Television. A well-deserved and very useful appointment for Tunisian National Television and for the battle of national liberation.

Omnipresent in the media, Chokri Ben Nessir (61 years old), with his impressive CV, has never failed in his missions without his liveliness of mind becoming wrinkled.

He succeeded, since his appointment since May 2023, in making SNIPE an institution that counts in the national media landscape, which it must be because he had a perfect knowledge of the Tunisian media landscape.

Before that, Chokri Ben Nessir had an exemplary and praiseworthy career as a journalist, publishing director and manager in every respect.

Chokri Ben Nessir (61 years old) studied at the Institute of Press and Information Sciences (IPSI) where he obtained a master’s degree in information and communication.

Then, in fact, he began his journey very early with “La Presse de Tunisie”, a French-language newspaper anchored in the national memory.

Chokri Ben Nessir has also worked and collaborated with several renowned national and international media such as Le Monde Diplomatique.

He also founded the business magazine “La Presse Business” and was the editor-in-chief of the French-language magazine “L’Expression”.

From 2018 to 2019, he was appointed Director of Publication of Dar Essabah (Arabic speaking) before being appointed editor-in-chief of the newspaper “La Presse” in 2020.

A follower of reason, Chokri Ben Nessir never raises his voice, but that does not prevent him from pointing out, when it was necessary and useful, inconsistencies. And, he will, of course, be confronted daily with the problems that are those of public companies.

Good luck!
