The Stargate universe remains cult for all science fiction fans. If Stargate SG-1 is available in its entirety on Prime Video, did you know that you can watch two other series in the franchise without spending a cent?

Nostalgic for the 1990s series Stargate SG-1in which Jack O’Neill was called to the rescue in the face of an alien invasion? Good news: two series derived from the universe are available in full and for free on the M6+ streaming platform. If you haven’t seen Stargate Atlantis And Stargate Universereleased in the 2000s, you will be delighted! Stargate Atlantis is the first to have seen the light of day in 2004. It follows an international delegation of scientists and researchers in the middle of exploring the mythical city of Atlantis in the Pegasus galaxy, in the middle of the ice of Antarctica, in order to find out if they can settle there permanently without risk. But very quickly, Major Sheppard and his team will be confronted with a new formidable enemy: the Wraith. If you like the series, you will be able to enjoy five seasons, enough to keep you busy for a while!

Only two seasons for Stargate: Universe

Stargate: Universeit was born in 2009. The series, however, ended after only two seasons in which we could follow the alien attack on a human military base located on an exoplanet which forced the emergency evacuation of the survivors aboard the spaceship Destiny. Thanks to the use of the ninth chevron of the Stargate, the travelers then found themselves several billion light years from Earth. American critics received this new series quite harshly. On the review aggregator site Rotten Tomatoesthe series gets a score of 61% for the first season and does a little better for its second season with 80%. Reason why, without doubt, it will be stopped more quickly than the first.

Stargate : a prolific universe

Both series, just like Stargate SG-1 before them, are derived from the science fiction film Stargate: The Stargate released in 1994, directed by Roland Emmerich and starring Kurt Russell and James Spader. In 2008, a new film was even released, titled Stargate: ContinuumThis time, the SG-1 team is rendezvoused on the Tok’ra planet where the symbiote from Ba’al’s host is to be extracted.
