Fires have continued to spread in the City of Angels since January 7.

Starting from Pacific Palisades, between Santa Monica and Malibu on the Pacific coast, the Palisades Fire, 68% contained, burned 9,489 hectares. East of Los Angeles, the Eaton Fire, 91% contained, devastated 5,674 hectares.

Since they broke out on January 7, these two fires have killed 28 people and destroyed or damaged nearly 16,000 “structures”, a term which includes houses, apartments, businesses or vehicles, according to firefighters.
