The Bratislava side are yet to secure a Champions League point, but they are determined to change that this Tuesday evening against Stuttgart.
Coach Vladimir Weiss approaches the match against VfB Stuttgart with a calm and pragmatic spirit. Although he has already established his starting XI, he does not wish to reveal it at the moment. Weiss recognizes his opponent’s strengths in the Champions League, which kicks off at 9 p.m., but chooses not to specify any weaknesses. “Just like Real Madrid or Manchester City, VfB has its faults,” notes the 60-year-old veteran manager. “We want to win our first points in this competition, and we need to achieve something to do so.”
With the support of a packed stadium, Weiss believes his team can succeed despite a lack of rhythm after a short winter break. “We need to show enthusiasm and approach the game boldly,” he said, paying tribute to Stuttgart: “They like to control the game and have the quality to do so. They play very modern football.”

Despite being the only team yet to score points, the Slovak champions are looking forward to taking on two Bundesliga sides in the Champions League. “For us, facing VfB is a festive occasion and an honor to play against last year’s runners-up, followed by closing the group against Bayern Munich,” concludes Weiss, brimming with confidence.
