The Haute-Garonne firefighters intervened yesterday, Sunday January 19, for a traffic accident between a pedestrian and a TER. Emergency services report one victim.
A tragic event. Around 9:15 p.m. yesterday, eight Hauts-Garonnais fire soldiers were mobilized for a traffic accident “involving a pedestrian and a TER”. The incident took place with a train providing the connection between Bayonne and Toulouse, “at the SNCF bridge spanning rue du Midi”, indicates the Departmental Fire and Rescue Service of Haute-Garonne (SDIS 31).
A victim to be deplored
The pedestrian, a young woman of 21, was “in a state of certain death” according to SDIS 31, despite “the promptness of the emergency services”. Concerning the hundred TER passengers, “no casualties have been reported”, and the train driver was taken care of in a state of shock. During the intervention, rail traffic was cut for “around two hours” in both directions of traffic.
