Revolution in Arbitrator Assignments: VeTAS Takes the Reins

In a groundbreaking move, the Central Referees Committee has unveiled a major initiative that promises to transform refereeing in leagues in Türkiye. This week, the introduction of the Data-Driven Assignment System, known as VeTAS, will shake up the way referee and assistant referee assignments are allocated within the Trendyol Super League and Trendyol 1st League .

In an official communication, the MHK confirmed the switch to this innovative system, stating: “The Data-Based Assignment System (VeTAS) has been activated for referee assignments.” This significant reform is set to bring a new level of efficiency and transparency to match refereeing.

The detailed MHK press release said:

The Data-Driven Assignment System (VeTAS) has been activated for Referee Assignments. The Central Referees Committee of the Turkish Football Federation has introduced changes to the process of assigning referees. Starting this week, the appointments of referees and assistant referees in the Trendyol Super League and Trendyol 1st League will be automatically managed via VeTAS (Data-Based Assignment System). Beginning in the 20th week of the season, these assignments will rely solely on the VeTAS methodology.
