Keano ‘Kiki’ Vanrafelghem leaves Patro Eisden and Challenger Pro League for Mechelen. Union Saint-Gilloise and La Gantoise were also interested.
It’s not official yet, but it won’t be long. Keano Vanrafelghem will leave Patro Eisden, in Challenger Pro League, to join Mechelen.
According to Het Nieuwsblad, the 21-year-old striker underwent his medical examination this Thursday. In the meantime, the northern daily has revealed the details of the transaction.
We know, for example, that the Belgian second division club is carrying out a very good financial transaction, since compensation of one million euros will be paid by Mechelen, which also cedes part of the capital gain on the future transfer from Vanrafelghem.
In addition, we learn that Union Saint-Gilloise and La Gantoise were also interested in the former member of the Club Bruges training center, as well as an unnamed Dutch first division club. Mechelen, however, was the most concrete and quickest.
Author of eight goals and six assists in fifteen Challenger Pro League matches since the start of the season, Vanrafelghem should be made official this weekend at the latest.
