After a year and 5 months behind bars, Fanta Sangaré was exonerated of the misappropriation of 50 kilograms of gold worth 35 billion Guinean francs, this Tuesday, January 14, 2025.

The one who made the media headlines for a long time during the month of June 2023, on a prayer rug, rosary in hand and dressed in a boubou and in a prayer position, appeared before the Dixinn court of first instance relocated to the Ratoma town hall. She was immediately acquitted against Malick Keita who demanded a large quantity of gold.

The accuser accuses Fanta Sangaré of having her gold stolen in Conakry, an accusation that the defense brushes aside with the solid alibi of the fact that Lady Sangaré was, at the time of the events, in Djankana, in the Kankan region.

A fact corroborated by several people and family members of the accused.

Rather, the daughter of the accused named Oumou, and a certain Fofana, both on the run, who allegedly took possession of the treasure extracted from land belonging to the Keïta family in Kankan.

With those involved in this case on the run, the court ruled in favor of Fanta Sangaré who was simply acquitted in this gold theft case.
