Donald Trump threatens to annex the Panama Canal and Greenland

Donald Trump took everyone by surprise during a press conference given in Palm Beach (Florida) on Tuesday January 7. The American president re-elected in November threatens to annex the Panama Canal and Greenland by force if necessary. “We need it for our economic security”justified the businessman.

The Republican had already threatened in the past to take control of the canal if passage rates for American ships were not reduced. He also mentioned this possibility for Greenland, an autonomous territory attached to Denmark. But Donald Trump had until now never mentioned a possible use of armed force. This statement comes while his son, Donald Trump Junior, was traveling to Greenland for tourism. A move loaded with innuendo.
