After 41 years of silence, Matt Hamill can finally hear.
The former UFC light heavyweight, perhaps best known for his disqualification victory over Jon Jones, managed to secure a new pair of digital hearing aids – powered by cutting-edge technology – with the ability to amplify the surrounding environment.
Which includes the voices of his young children.
“I just received the most powerful digital hearing aids ever made,” Hamill wrote on Instagram. “For the first time in 41 years, I can finally hear the voices of my children, the sounds of people walking and laughing. I finally heard my mother’s voice and she cried. I’m also looking forward to hearing my brother Pat’s voice. I just hope he doesn’t have a voice like a foghorn. It’s great although I know it will take time to adjust to all of this. Good year!”
He might want to turn them off for this wacky interview.
Hamill (13-8), 48, who rose to fame in The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 3 alongside eventual UFC champion Michael Bisping, has not competed since scoring a split decision victory against Chris Birchler under the Maverick MMA banner in 2017. early 2018.
But that “Bones” rematch is still on the table.
