Ukraine, Putin attacks at Christmas: rain of Russian missiles

Rain of Russian missiles on Ukraine. December 25th opens today with news of a massive attack conducted by Moscow's forces. The raid initially targets Kharkiv and then extends to other Ukrainian regions.

In Kharkiv, in particular, at least 4 wounded were reported after the offensive: they are registered 11 explosions in the space of just 26 minutes. According to mayor Igor Terekhov, the attack mainly affects the Saltovsky district: the conditions of 2 injured people are particularly worrying. In total, 12 missiles were fired against the city. Several sectors of Kharkiv are without heating due to the damage caused to power plants, boilers and other systems.

Subsequently, the Ukrainian authorities made it known that the attacks extend to the regions of Poltava, Kirovograd, Cherkasy and Vinnytsiawhere a power plant is damaged. Russian missiles are increasingly striking towards the west, up to the Ivano Frankivsk region.

In action, according to Kiev, Russian Tu-95 MS fighters. “The enemy is again attacking our energy system on a large scale,” Energy Minister German Galushchenko wrote on Facebook. Due to the ongoing attacks, measures are being taken to limit electricity consumption.

According to preliminary reports, our defenders managed to shoot down more than 50 missiles and a significant number of drones”, writes Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on social media, reporting “power outages in several regions. Engineers are working to restore electricity supply as soon as possible”.

“I thank all those who work for the country, who are on combat duty, who are protecting our skies. Russian evil will not break Ukraine and will not ruin Christmas” concludes Zelensky.
