Waiting for the release of iOS 18.3, Apple would have added a further and evidently unscheduled release to its development program, made necessary by a series of problems and imperfections reported by its customers following the latest software update.
Despite the fact that, therefore, the Cupertino giant is already in an advanced phase of testing with regards to both iOS and iPadOS 18.3, it seems that soon users of the bitten apple's products will be able to benefit from an intermediate version in the hope of resolving those defects that many have complained about.
The experts of the web portal were the first to reveal this preview MacRumorswhich on more than one occasion in the past have already managed to detect versions of Apple operating systems not yet officially announced thanks to a series of data identified by its analytical suite on the electronic devices that access the site.
But what could this new update include? First of all, it seems that we can already rule out the possibility of a Beta test version being released before its launch, and this is due to the fact that within iOS 18.2.1 In particular, there should be room for security updates and patches to correct bugs, although it is impossible to understand which ones the Cupertino giant will try to remedy. MacRumors is certain to have already detected this new version of the software running on iPhones that have entered the web portal.
Considering all the details detectable from the previews, as well as what we already know about iOS 18.3, therefore, it can be said that the release of the intermediate version will arrive between the end of December 2024 and the beginning of January 2025, as also confirmed by the MacRumors experts. The fact that it is a correction of vulnerability and imperfections of the operating system, it should be a guarantee of the release of a specific intermediate update also for Apple-branded tablets, with the arrival of iPadOS 18.2.1. It cannot be ruled out that other accompanying updates may also arrive, such as macOS 15.2.
1 as far as Macs are concerned, but there is no indiscretion in this regard.
This intermediate update would however arrive very shortly after the release of iOS 18.2, carried out at the beginning of December and intended to perfect Apple Intelligence and the “Where is” app.
