It’s a flawless start to the European campaign. Already victorious last week in South Africa against the Cape Stromers (14-24), the residents of the Toulon Rugby club got the better of the Glasgow Warriors, Sunday afternoon at the Félix-Mayol stadium, on the occasion of the second day of the Champions Cup (30-29). This second consecutive success for the Rouge et Noir allows them to take the lead in Group D. « We knew it wasn’t going to be an easy match but I’m very happy with this victory »rejoices Pierre Mignoni, the manager of the RCT. In his happiness, he deplores that his team did not manage to obtain the offensive bonus. It was even the Scots who took advantage at the very end of the match to leave with two bonus points (offensive and defensive) despite the defeat. Driven by a Facundo Isa on the big nights and a decisive Leicester Fainga’Anuku in key moments, the Varois applied intense play on both sides of the field throughout the match, despite « some mistakes made », as Captain Charles Ollivon recognizes. The devil is in the details.
