Ben Lam was not retained by the Catalan Dragons, as the club announced this Monday late morning. He will not have a contract for the 2025 season.
The adventure in the Catalan country is coming to an end for Ben Lam. After the 2023 World Cup in which he took part with Samoa, the winger finished the season with Montpellier, both in the Challenge Cup and in the Top 14. He also scored a try during the accession play-off won against Grenoble. This summer, the Catalan Dragons surprised us by announcing his recruitment. But his test was not conclusive. “The 33-year-old was on trial with the aim of landing a Super League contract with the Dragons. However, it was felt that despite his efforts it would be difficult for him to get game time.e play in positions where he has experience.”
The former UBB and Montpellier player will have played with the Saint-Estève XIII Catalan reserve team: five matches for three tries.
