Ahmed Jaouadi wins gold in the 1500m

At just 19 years old, Ahmed Jaouadi left his mark on the World Short Course Swimming Championships in Budapest. In a thrilling final of the 1500 meter freestyle, he dominated his opponents and won a resounding gold medal.

With an impressive time of 14 minutes 16 seconds and 40 hundredths, Jaouadi got the better of the German Florian Wellbrock (14:17.27) and the Turk Kuzey Tuncelli (14:20.64). This victory places the young Tunisian among the most promising hopes in the discipline.

Far from stopping there, Jaouadi intends to continue his momentum. He will compete in the 400 meters on Thursday, December 12, before closing his program on Saturday, December 14 with the 800 meters.

The Tunisian delegation will also be able to count on other talented swimmers. Rami Rahmouni will be lined up on Friday December 13 in the 800 meter freestyle and Sunday December 15 in the 200 meter freestyle. As for Belhassen Ben Miled, he will tackle the 400 meter medley on the last day of the competition. It should be remembered that, in the morning, Belhassen Ben Miled failed to qualify for the final of the 200 meter medley.

The World 25 Meter Pool Swimming Championships are being held in Budapest, Hungary from December 10-15.
