With an impressive launch on September 9, 2024, Saber Interactive continues to update the new Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2. The second new chapter in the Warhammer 40K series which, more than 13 years after the launch of the original, brings us back in the shoes of the famous Space Marines.
With a fun campaign and co-op multiplayer mode to take on hordes of enemies. A solid chapter in the skin of the famous Space Marines of the Warhammer 40K series, offering an entertaining third-person shooter and renewed with the Operation Obelisk update.
Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2 – The arrival of the new Operation Obelisk
With the Official Announcement on December 10, 2024, Saber Interactive brings update 5.0 to Space Marine 2. This important game update includes new features such as a new operation, weapon balances, and various fixes .
The update is presented with a spectacular trailer released for the occasion. With many completely free additions, fans will be able to enjoy them on PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC from December 10.
Space Marine 2 – Operation Obelisk and new game content
The most important content in the new Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2 update is the new Operation Obelisk. A new operation which takes us to Demerium, with the aim of disrupting the flow of energy powering the Aurora.
The mission takes place alongside the final events of the game's campaign, so players must venture into the catacombs to reach the Obelisk's control room. In addition to the new operation, a new formidable enemy appears: Enlightened Tzaangor. These enemies are able to move through the air and attack at close and long range.
Space Marine 2 – New content from the Dark Angels Chapter Pack
With the new 5.0 update, we also have new cosmetic content in the Dark Angels Chapter Pack. A new DLC that adds additional customization options, including:
- Dark Angels Successor Chapters : 8 new skins available
- Dark Angels Champion Skin : New armor for the Bulwark with a shield
- Skins d’armes Dark Angels : New Dark Angel themed skins for Bulwark's Auto Bolt Rifle, Plasma Pistol, Power Sword and Storm Shield
Plus, unlockable cosmetic content like the popular Mark VIII Ravenwing helmet! And 15 new colors for the lenses of your combat helmet!
Space Marine 2 is modernized with PS5 Pro support and new features on PC
One last fantastic new feature concerns support for the PS5 Pro. With Operation Obelisk, Saber Interactive adds native support for the PS5 Pro. Allowing you to reach 60 fps in Performance mode and 30 fps in Quality mode with a resolution upscaled to 4K. Thanks to the PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution of PS5 Pro.
At the same time, the team also confirms the arrival of Frame Generation with DLSS3 and FSR3.1 on PC. In short, a highly anticipated final update for 2024 on Space Marine 2, with the start of Season 3 planned for 2025.
