His lifeless body was found about a hundred meters from the house where he had been staying with a friend since October.
It was a local resident who discovered the lifeless body of the fifty-year-old on Friday December 6 morning. The victim is Jérémie Greco, 54, a former municipal agent for the city of Orsay, we learn from Le Parisien.
He had been staying since the beginning of October with a couple of friends, about a hundred meters from the place where his body was found, on the public road, rue des Gâtines in Orsay (Essonne), shortly after 6 a.m.
The victim suffered serious injuries “from an impact with a vehicle” according to a police source. The use of images from video surveillance cameras allowed the police to make several arrests on Friday afternoon.
“A very violent shock”
According to the account given by the police to the victim’s host, the latter was woken up around 4 a.m. by the alarm of her motorcycle connected to her phone. The sequence of events is not formally described but one or more individuals could have attempted to steal the two-wheeler. The agents recovered Jérémie’s cell phone and motorcycle, fifty meters from where he usually parks it.
“The investigation is still ongoing but the circumstances suggest that his death is linked to a very violent impact with a vehicle in the context of motorcycle theft,” Rémi Darmon, the mayor (PS) of Orsay told our colleagues. He keeps the memory of “someone very appreciated, who held several positions in the municipality”.
A fund was opened to finance the funeral of Jérémie Greco.
