Here we are, on a Sunday, -5°C when we wake up in the Crévoux valley. We are on an exposed slope, with maximum 3 hours of sunshine. We leave on a whim at the beginning of the afternoon. Luckily, it is possible to hike almost directly above the village at an altitude of 1750 meters. The snow has not “slipped”, as we express it in the jargon. The climb is very good, we don't sink, there is a refreeze crust of around 10 cm, going almost to the ground. For the descent, you have to know how to appreciate very hard snow, it is impossible to carve but it is very easy to make jump turns by leaning on the crust of the snow cover.

For a first of the season, this outing was very pleasant even if the powder was not there.
