BAGNOLS/CÈZE An exceptional grant for the Food Bank following the fire of its trucks

Last night, six trucks from the Food Bank were destroyed by an arson in Nîmes. The mayor of Bagnols Jean-Yves Chapelet reacts in a press release and announces that the allocation of an exceptional subsidy to the association will be proposed to the next municipal council.

It is “with amazement and deep indignation” that Jean-Yves Chapelet says he learned the news today. “This unspeakable act strikes right at the heart of an association which embodies the most essential values: solidarity, mutual aid and support for the most deprived”continues the elected official, who “strongly condemns this attack, which cannot find any justification. It is unthinkable that such acts would befall an organization which, thanks to the mobilization of its volunteers and the support of its partners, allows so many families to overcome the difficulties of daily life. »

After expressing “all (his) solidarity as well as that of the inhabitants of Bagnols” to the president of the BA30 Joseph Pronesti, the mayor of the third city of Gard announces that “During the next municipal council, (he) will propose the allocation of an exceptional subsidy in order to support the association in the reconstruction of its logistical resources. »

“Faced with this heinous act, our collective responsibility is to come together and reaffirm our commitment to a more united societybelieves Jean-Yves Chapelet. Furthermore, I would like to salute the courage and determination of the Food Bank volunteers, who, despite this ordeal, continue to stand alongside the most vulnerable. »
