When health falters, seeing a doctor becomes a priority. Whether for a check-up or a persistent headache, taking care of yourself remains essential. However, a new reality is emerging: price of medical consultations will change soon.
According to MoneyVoxthese adjustments could affect your health budget. But what should we really expect from these changes? Here's what you need to know to anticipate these developments.
Seeing a doctor will soon become more expensive
Going to the doctor is a must for everyone. Whether for the flu, a vaccine, or medical follow-up, no one is safe from health problems. Seeing care in time can make the difference between a quick recovery and a worsening situation. But now, this necessity is becoming more and more expensive.
THE prices for medical consultations will increase shortly. This measure is far from being a hasty decision. In fact, it was born from many months of negotiations with the unions of private doctors. Moreover, the Cnam had already announced it in May.

However, this measure risks weighing on the wallets of the French. With health costs already high, this increase is added to a ever-growing list of expenses.
New prices for going to the doctor
Prepare for more expensive doctor visits. These increases concern both generalists and specialists, and they risk increasing your health expenses.
Going to a general practitioner will now cost you 30 euros, compared to 26.50 euros currently. Prices climb further for specialists. For example, consulting a pediatrician for a child under two years old will cost 39 euros, and will reach 40 euros in July 2025.
Furthermore, you will have to pay 37 euros for a coordinated consultation with a gynecologist, instead of 33.50 euros. For the psychiatry appointmentneurology or neuropsychiatry, the price will reach 55 euros, compared to 51.70 euros today.
But when will these new prices apply? In a few weeks. Indeed, from December 22they will come into force for a period of five years.

And that's not all!
As the saying goes, a bad news never comes alone. As doctor consultation prices rise, another decision may not go unnoticed.
Monday, November 18, the Minister of Health announced a drop in reimbursement of consultations by Health Insurance. If the support rate is 70% today, prepare for an adjustment to 65%.
Concretely, this reduction means a direct increase in your out-of-pocket cost. Whether for a visit to a general practitioner or a specialist, patients will pay more out of pocket.
The losers in this reform?
This reform particularly affects 5% of French people, or around 3 million people. These are in particular those without health insurance. Without this coverage, they must assume the entire remaining cost after reimbursement from Health Insurance.
Remember that complementary health insurance plays a crucial role in covering this remaining part. This reduces the bill for the patient. However, even those benefiting from this coverage are not completely spared. The impact of the price increase will be felt in the long term.
Supplementary funds will undoubtedly pass on this increase to contributions, as highlighted MoneyVox. In addition, policyholders will have to face increases in their premiums. These could rise between 4.5% and 9.5% next year.
In short, no one will really be able to avoid the consequences of this increase in doctor consultation prices. Covered by complementary insurance or notthe French will have to put their hands in their pockets to meet these new costs.
