Sunday November 24, the Accordion Night which took place on four municipalities of Trégor was the opportunity to present the national “Gus Viseur” prize.
Supported by singer Sanseverino
This award has been around for many years. Its committee is sponsored by singer/guitarist Sanseverino. It is traditionally given to accordion players for their work in promoting and transmitting the instrument, for a publication, a record, etc.
This year, the price had a Breton color. The ceremony was orchestrated by Philippe Krümm, an eminent world specialist in the instrument, former director of Trad Magazine, Accordion Magazinerecord producer…
Several prices
In Trégor, he necessarily had to honor Bernard Lasbleiz, historical teacher of the diatonic accordion within the Breton Cultural Center of Lannion and the Conservatory. He was one of the precursors of the accordion in the 1970s, first in the Paris region and then in Brittany.
A former student of Bernard, Youen Bodros also became a teacher at Guingamp. He is one of today's diatonic virtuosos and he was honored for his latest disc, a duo with Timothée Le Bour, “an Daou Rib”.
Gilles Réa is a film director. He was rewarded for the recent release of his documentary “Gus and Joss, a generation in the Visor” on the life of Gus Visor. Françoise Mével was honored for her many years of teaching at the Breton Cultural Center in Lannion notably.
Award-winning records
Sébastien Bertrand of Beg Léguer won an award for his latest album “les gens d’ailleurs”. Christian Van Den Broeck came specially from Belgium to receive his prize. He has just released a book/box set “Les As du Musette” which compiles a number of incredible documents on the history of the musette.
Kristina Kuusisko, a Finn who has lived in Trégor for many years, was honored for her talent and the passion she puts into the practice of bandoneon.
