Bourbon-Lancy/Gueugnon. Henri Duprat received the gold medal for services rendered to the Red Cross

This distinction awarded to Henri Duprat by the national president of the Red Cross honors his services rendered.

Henri joined the Red Cross in 1996

Retired from the SNCF, he wanted to join an association with a humanitarian vocation, it was at the unit in the 16th, where his professional activities had led him.

He was first assigned as a Red Cross volunteer to the Trousseau hospital (children), at the blood bank. In his mission, he canvasses universities, businesses and businesses in order to recruit new blood donors. He makes appointments with the hospital and manages administrative liaisons. He carried out this mission for three years, two to three days a week. Period during which he had the satisfaction of participating in an action of basic necessity.

A return to basics in the year 2000

In 2000, he returned to Gueugnon where he had all his family ties. Naturally, he contacted the local union and joined as a volunteer.

In April 2003, during the local and departmental elections, he was elected president of the local union of Gueugnon and became, by statute, a member of the departmental committee of Mâcon. He held these positions from 2003 to 2012.

During this period, the Gueugnon Red Cross deployed its actions in the field of first aid, providing all the first aid stations necessary for sporting activities. Social actions, in particular, in the field of training the public to obtain the first aid certificate. The monitors, all members of the unit, could open several sessions per year, in the field of financial social assistance and food aid managed with other local associations and the city's CIAS.

In 2005, Henri was elected a member of the board of directors of the Red Cross hospital in Mardor (71) specializing in post-operative care. Position he held until 2012.

When he turned 72, the age limit set by the statutes of the Red Cross, he remained a volunteer, mainly participating in the unit's social activities.

Two other medals were awarded

Guy Forest also presented the Grand Gold medal to Bernard Gardechaux.

He joined the Red Cross in 1984 and passed all levels of first aid. He created hundreds of first aid stations, ending up as departmental head of first aiders and radio operator. It still has accident prevention activities for the public and associations.

The medal of honor goes to Isabelle Truchi, who joined Vestiboutique in 2017.
