“They are completely stupid”: Emmanuel Macron attacks Haitians whom he accuses of “being responsible” for the political crisis in Haiti

It's terrible. It's terrible. And I can't replace him. They are complete idiots, they should never have released it.” said the French president regarding the Haitians who dismissed their Prime Minister, Garry Conille.

Emmanuel Macron has lost patience. Filmed during a press conference on the sidelines of the G20 in Rio, Brazil this Wednesday, November 20, the head of state was arrested “insistently” by a Haitian accusing him and of being responsible for the situation in Haiti. Annoyed, the president did not hesitate to defend his country, believing that the Haitians were “completely stupid” for having sacked their Prime Minister.

“They should never have released it!”

“Frankly, it was the Haitians who killed Haiti, leaving drug trafficking behind,” replied Emmanuel Macron. “And there, what they did, the Prime Minister was great, I defended him, they fired him!” he added, beside himself, referring to the dismissal of Garry Conille, appointed Prime Minister five months ago to try to stabilize the country, by the Haitian presidential transition council. “It's terrible. It's terrible. And I can't replace him. They're completely stupid, they should never have released it, the Prime Minister was great”he continued.

No reaction to Haiti

For around ten years, the country has been plagued by political, security, socio-economic and humanitarian crises, largely fueled by violence between gangs which control 80% of the capital, Port-au-Prince.

On November 10, Prime Minister Garry Conille, who had been in office for only five months, was dismissed from his position while the Transition Council wanted to change managers within the Ministries of Justice, Defense, Finance and Health. . A decision which came after weeks of conflict between the leader and the transition council.

The number one of the Presidential Transitional Council, Leslie Voltaire, has not yet reacted to Emmanuel Macron's comments.
