Manu Koné made the history of the Blues yesterday against Italy

The French team finally won over its supporters yesterday with its great victory on the San Siro pitch against Italy (3-1). For this meeting, Didier Deschamps had decided to change his squad compared to the one which started the meeting Thursday evening against Israel (0-0). Among the starters, we found a certain Manu Koné, who scored points in the midfield. The Roma midfielder is starting to gain depth, having already been praised by Didier Deschamps last September during the match at Groupama Stadium against Belgium (2-0).

That evening, the coach praised the merits of the former player: “I take young people, if we were in qualification, I would certainly have done differently. I remember Paul Pogba for his first match, he took a red. I don't want to compare him to Paul, he has steps to take. There are people in the midfield with people who have experiences that he doesn't have. But it's very good what he did” he said.

Koné's striking stats!

One thing is certain, the Roman will have to seize every opportunity. In the meantime, he made the history of the selection hit by the rooster last night. Indeed, he became the first player in history to have played each of his first four matches with against a Top 10 nation in the FIFA rankings. Suffice to say that he had the right to heavy duty for his debut. It remains to be seen whether he will now succeed in establishing himself over time in the blue jersey. As a reminder, the next gathering will take place in March for the quarter-finals of the League of Nations.
