Guyane Soir is establishing itself in eastern Guyana. For the first time, a special edition will be held live from St Georges de L'Oyapock. Alexandra Silbert and Nickerson Perdius will meet you this Friday, November 15 at 7 p.m. live on TV and web.
Eastern Guyana, although vast, remains sparsely populated with significant challenges due to its geographic isolation and weak infrastructure. The community of communes of Eastern Guyana (CCEG) covers 25,560 square km. It includes Saint-Georges de l'Oyapock, Camopi, Régina and Ouanary. These 4 municipalities bring together only 2.5% of the total population of Guyana, or around 7,205 inhabitants in 2019.
Among the major challenges, reducing unemployment among young people, opening up access, waste management and even economic development. But the east is also a region with multiple potential. This territory with exceptional landscapes and biodiversity has strong potential for tourism.
This is a unique event for our editorial team which is offering this live edition of St Georges de L'Oyapock. For 1h15, Alexandra Silbert and Nickerson Perdius will meet different guests who bring this part of the territory to life: political, institutional, associative. The opportunity to address issues, ambitions and projects in terms of economic development.
Reports, decryptions, interviews will punctuate this newspaper around themes linked to education, the economy, cooperation with Brazil, culture and even sport. See you this Friday, November 15, 7 p.m. live on Guyana la 1era .
