War in Ukraine: “New day, new record”, Russia loses 1,950 soldiers in 24 hours, highest daily toll since the start of the invasion

The previous record for losses in 24 hours was set the day before.

While they are preparing a vast counter-offensive in the Kursk region, notably thanks to North Korean soldiers, the Russians are still suffering heavy losses on the front. According to the Ukrainians, the month of October proved to be the deadliest for the Russians since the beginning of the invasion with more than 1,500 men per day.

On November 11, the personnel losses of the Russian army in Ukraine reached a new record with 1,950 soldiers killed, which constitutes the highest number of daily losses since the start of the large-scale Russian invasion, assures the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense. A record surpassing that set… the day before, when 1,770 Russian soldiers were killed.

According to the latest information, the total Russian losses on the front between February 24, 2022 and November 12, 2024 are estimated at around 712,610 soldiers.

In addition to personnel losses, the Russian army also suffered significant losses in terms of equipment. Here is an overview of the cumulative material losses since the start of the war according to Ukraine:

  • Armored personnel carriers: 18,847 (+81)
  • Artillery systems: 20,352 (+38)
  • Multiple Launch Rocket Systems (MLRS): 1,249 (+4)
  • Air defense systems: 996
  • Planes: 369
  • Helicopters: 329
  • Operational-tactical level drones: 18,737 (+61)
  • Cruise missiles: 2,629
  • Ships and boats: 28
  • Submarines: 1
  • Vehicles and fuel tanks: 28,870 (+68)
  • Special equipment: 3,626.

Fighting continues intensely in several sectors. Russian forces have recently advanced in the directions of Pokrovsk, Kurakhove and Vuhledar. According to sources, Moscow's military has been particularly active in the Kurakhove and Pokrovsk sectors, with numerous combat engagements reported in these areas.
