the campaign for “yes” intensifies – Journal du Gabon

The supporters of “yes” to the 2024 referendum are increasingly in the cities and departments of Gabon to convince the populations to vote yes to the new draft constitution on November 16.

Since the launch of the referendum campaign on November 6, the yes campaign has intensified. Yes supporters are multiplying in the cities to explain the need to vote for “yes”. This is the case in the Ntem department where a crowd of committed and enthusiastic citizens gathered to express their support for this reform project. These populations listened to the honorable Fridolin Mvé Messa, who warmly thanked them for their presence. Then, Senator Ondo Edou, in charge of propaganda, spoke in the vernacular language, thus allowing local communities to fully identify with the issues of this new Constitution.

In Ovan we note the presence of the provincial referendum campaign coordinator of Ogooué-Ivindo (north-east), Prisca Koho-Nlend, who did not fail to invite the populations to vote for “yes” in the referendum . In her speech for the occasion, she presented the referendum as being a mechanism of democracy. As for the departmental coordinator of M'voung, Perfecte Ollame Amouyeme, invited the populations of this department and the entire province to together make this referendum campaign a total success, a moment of friendly exchange, a constructive argument between daughters and sons of the same land.

Furthermore, the provincial coordination called on the populations of Lopé and Booué to vote YES, during a ceremony marking the launch of the second and third stages of this campaign in the locality. Note that, several political actors like Jean Ping, the patriarch Guy Nzouba Ndama, who loudly and clearly called on the Logovéans to vote YES on November 16.
