Actor Tony Todd, star of ‘Candyman’, dies at age 69

American actor Tony Todd, known for his role in Candymanbut also seen in Platoon et Destination finaledied at the age of 69.

His character traumatized generations of spectators. Tony Todd, the actor who played the terrifying Daniel Robitaille in Candymanhas just died at the age of 69, according to information from Deadline.

Actress Virginia Madsen, his co-star in the film released in 1992, paid tribute to him on Instagram. “The great actor Tony Todd has left us and is now an angel. Just like he was in life,” she wrote.

Horrific franchise

Known worldwide for this role, which he reprized in 1995, 1999 and 2021 in the sequels of CandymanTony Todd also distinguished himself in Platoonby Oliver Stone in 1986, in the role of Sergeant Warren, addicted to heroin.

His tall stature – 1.95m – his voice and his charisma gave him a prominent place in many horror films.
