Retired teacher Christian Lagueux has just received a prize for excellence in history, awarded by the Society of History Teachers of Quebec.
The distinction was awarded to him during the organization’s annual conference, which was held at the end of last October.
The wording of the award certificate mentions that this professor, who taught his knowledge at the Polyvalente de Saint-Georges, “has distinguished itself by an exceptional contribution by developing original and stimulating educational projects in order to discover, know and love history.»
This is particularly the case with its educational activity entitled Reproduction of a historical object from the history of Quebec and Canada which has obtained its letters of nobility over the years through the recognition of environments affecting culture, heritage and education.
Several of the students’ works produced as part of this activity are still currently presented at the Plains of Abraham Museum as part of the youth exhibition The Plains of Abraham school showcase. Note that thousands of students have been able to experience and enjoy this activity since its creation in 2001.
