Investiture of Youth Departmental Advisors: Côte-d’Or middle school students speak

This Wednesday, President François Sauvadet welcomed the new Departmental Youth Advisors of Côte-d'Or to the Hôtel du Département, a dynamic group of 54 middle school students aged 11 to 15 who will represent their establishments for a two-year term. This initiative offers young people a privileged space for citizen participation, allowing them to make their ideas heard and to actively contribute to projects of general interest.

Ambassadors of their generation
As ambassadors of their generation, these young advisors play an essential role in bringing adolescents closer to departmental elected officials, by bringing their voice within the Assembly. Their mission: to work on concrete projects that meet the needs of their classmates and college students throughout the Côte-d'Or.

A major consultation with college students in 2025
One of the flagship projects of their mandate will be the major departmental consultation which will be held in 2025. The Youth Departmental Advisors will conduct this survey to gather the opinions of their peers on current issues that concern them. The results will be revealed during a major event scheduled for May 27. This consultation will give middle school students the opportunity to share their concerns and aspirations, thus helping to better guide the Department's actions in favor of youth.

Commitment to various citizen projects
In addition to the consultation, young elected officials will have the opportunity to develop citizen initiatives around several important themes:
– Ecological transition: awareness of environmental issues and local actions for a sustainable future.
– Solidarity: organization of mutual aid and support projects in their establishments.
– Culture and citizenship: creation of cultural projects that strengthen the link between youth and the territory.
– Fight against school bullying: continuation of actions initiated by their predecessors to prevent and combat this scourge in colleges.
These projects will allow Departmental Youth Advisors to strengthen their sense of commitment and responsibility, while contributing to a positive impact for their communities.

A civic adventure
President Sauvadet praised the commitment of these young elected officials, saying: “The Youth Departmental Advisors are the representatives of a generation that thirsts for change, of a generation that wants to commit to the future. It’s a great civic adventure that awaits them ».
By investing these young people in public life, the Côte-d'Or Department wishes to encourage a new generation of active and responsible citizens, ready to work for a more inclusive and united future.
