Donald Trump, finished? Obviously not. He has just won the American presidential election. While many thought it was necessary to put an end to the former host of the White House, here he is returning. Well intended to restore the United States to its glory days.
American presidential election: the end of anxiety?
It's a clear victory. An easy victory. Donald Trump has just been re-elected president of the United States, after a fascinating comeback. The one that many saw finished, will therefore preside over the destiny of the greatest country in the world. “On each side there were people convinced for one side or the other. But in both camps, people were above all very anxious” explains Julie Lévesque, from Los Angeles.
The journalist adds that when she asks people why they hate Donald Trump so much, she is often served with clichés linked to the person of the now new American president. On the other hand, “When you ask them to talk about Trump's policy decisions that have made their lives difficult, all you get are empty phrases. Same thing when you ask for concrete examples of Kamala Harris' policies“.
The United States, an example for the world?
The anxiety, the worry, Daniel Brisson, also felt it from Florida. “However, there was very strong enthusiasm to go and vote. What people worry about is the economy. Even among young people. Inflation, purchasing power. They had a feeling that this was going to change the political face of the planet. America First, yes, but they want to become an example for the world” he specifies on South Radio.
For his part, Simon Petit Albert, from Boston, explains that it was difficult to talk politics with the local population. “They are a wealthy, bourgeois class, but who vote Democratic, believe themselves to be on the left, against social inequalities. While here in Boston, social inequalities are blatant” he specifies. Concluding on the fact that these people were afraid of a Donald Trump victory. It's a done deal.
