Saturday evening, Vendée firefighters were mobilized to extinguish two fires that occurred in homes in Triaize and Rocheservière. Both disasters led to the hospitalization of the occupants, suffering from smoke poisoning.

A fire in Triaize started from the kitchen

According to Bleu, the first incident occurred in Triaize, a town in the south of Vendée, around 8:50 p.m. Firefighters intervened quickly to put out a fire that had started in the kitchen of a house. The resident, a 59-year-old woman, was evacuated to Luçon hospital after inhaling the fumes. The exact circumstances of the fire have not yet been confirmed, but it appears that the fire started in the cooking space.

Electrical fire in Rocheservière

A few hours later, around midnight, a second fire broke out in Rocheservière, in a garage located at a place called Les Rochettes. The firefighters’ initial findings indicate that the origin of the disaster was linked to a faulty electrical panel. The flames, although quickly brought under control using a fire extinguisher, still required the intervention of firefighters to prevent any spread.

The resident of the premises, a 49-year-old man, was also transported to La Roche-sur-Yon hospital for examinations after being exposed to the fumes.
