The third Friday of October is traditionally Youth Movement Day. Young members of youth groups such as Scouts & Gidsen, Chiro, KSA and KLJ then go to school in their uniform. Just like in many other Kempen municipalities, the Geel city council treats the young people to a refreshing breakfast.
Anyone who comes to the De Bogaard youth center in uniform on Friday, October 18 between 7:30 and 8:30 am can expect all kinds of tasty and healthy food. Preferably bring your own plate and cup. But it doesn’t stop there in Geel. A party tailored to the children will take place in Youth Center De Vonk on the De Bogaard domain from 6 to 8.30 p.m. They can not only enjoy music, but also bouncy castles, burgers and grime. Parents are also welcome for a drink. The older youth can then enjoy themselves from 9 p.m. in De Vonk during the Night of the Youth Movement, where DJs provide musical entertainment on two different stages. Anyone who comes in uniform can enter for free, otherwise an entrance ticket costs 5 euros. (to)
