The bar of this small village in Haute- crossed by the RN 102 will come back to life

The bar Le 102, closed for several months, has now changed its face in the hands of Antoine Chantelouve and his relatives. The buyers were able to introduce themselves to the residents during the recent inauguration.

Stopping for lunch, doing a quick errand or even withdrawing money along the RN 102 is now possible in Saint-Georges-d’Aurac. The tobacco bar in the town crossed by this national road has just reopened, after a few months of closure. It was inaugurated a few days ago and has given a serious boost to the activity of the town which barely had any businesses left.
102 was run for more than 20 years by Karine Corboli, who decided to hand over control in October 2023. The overall cost of bringing the place back into service is around 127,000 euros (purchase of the building, the business and renovation work), financed by the municipality aided by the State and other local authorities. The work lasted until last June.Inauguration of bar and hunting premises St Georges d’Aurac
It is a pair who have taken over the reins of this multi-service business. Behind the counter, Antoine Chantelouve heats up the beer tap to serve the fifty people who have taken over 102 for the inauguration as quickly as possible. The helping hand is sure: “I was already working in catering in Langeac and as soon as I saw this opportunity here, I jumped at the chance,” explains Antoine. It’s his mother Christelle Allemand who tries to make her way between the guests, trays of petit fours in hand. In the room, there is discussion in all directions. That’s a bit like the spirit of 102… a friendly place in a small town.
Outside, a group of young people are enjoying the last rays of the sun. The terrace lends itself well. People passing through stop to enjoy the tobacco shop, because that’s also what 102 is… We eat and drink there, but not only that. A small grocery area offers some essential foodstuffs. There is also a bread store. And, something rather unusual in this type of place, there is a cash withdrawal point. The Le 102 bar is now a must on the road of the same name…
