1 km high!

Located in Saudi Arabia, it will be called the Jeddah Tower, taking the name of the city in which it is gradually rising. In addition to representing architectural prestige, this immense building becomes the symbol of an ambitious country in full expansion. His nickname? The Kingdom Tower, that goes without saying!

The Jeddah Tower: a long project to complete

It has already been 11 years since the constructionconstruction of what promises to be the tallest tower in the world at 1,008 meters high! Stopped in 2018 at around a third of its final height and after the president of the builder Saudi Binladin Group was removed from the project, the tower then suffered from theepidemicepidemic of Covid-19, delaying its construction. Since then, the Jeddah Tower designed by the Adrian Smith + Gordon Gill Architecture firm has made headlines again with the resumption of construction at the end of 2023 and is gradually (re)gaining height.

This restart suggests a possible end to its construction which would be looming by 2028 to 2029. When it is completed, it will become the tallest building in the world, measuring the equivalent of three Eiffel Towers and almost eleven Statues of Liberty.

Fifty-nine elevatorselevators soaring at around 10 meters per second and 12 escalators are planned to climb the tower to its top. Accessible on level 157 of the tower, 644 meters above the ground and with a diameter of approximately 30 meters, the highest observatory in the world will be located, allowing you to enjoy a view of the Red SeaRed Sea breathtaking!

The Jeddah Tower will have a high-performance exterior wall that “ will minimize the consumption ofenergyenergy by reducing thermal loads » and the three sides of the skyscraper “ will feature a series of notches that will create pockets of shade, protecting areas of the building from soleilsoleil ».

It will accommodate luxurious residences, high-end shopping centers, a large number of offices, a luxury hotel with 200 rooms, among others. Completed, the future tallest tower in the world, the flagship structure of the Jeddah Central complex, should cost around $1.2 billion, or just over 1 billion euros. A figure that could still evolve as the tower grows…
