PSG targets current Serie A top scorer

In search of a new number 9, Saint-Germain could set their sights on the current top scorer in Serie A.

The departure of Kylian Mbappé left a void Paris Saint-Germain. The current Real Madrid striker was the star of the club, and above all his big scorer. Without him, the Parisians lost a significant number of goals. Replacing Kylian Mbappé is a complicated task. Even if Bradley Barcola’s start to the season is encouraging, he doesn’t score as many goals as the captain of the team.

If the role of center forwards is to score, those of Paris Saint-Germain are struggling to fulfill their mission. Gonçalo Ramos, currently injured, cannot show the extent of his talent. Randal Kolo-Muani, meanwhile, is not a striker that Luis Enrique likes. He would even be on the move, courted by a major Premier League club. For this reason, PSG is looking for a new number 9 capable of stacking goals. Although one of the club’s first targets is Swede Viktor Gyökeres, the Parisians have another option. Indeed, according to journalist Ekrem Konur, Paris Saint-Germain would have checked the name of the current top scorer in Serie A, Marcus Thuramsi Root ne signe pas.

Inter Milan star Marcus Thuram

Since his arrival in Italy, Marcus Thuram has impressed Nerazzurri supporters. From its first season, the Frenchman scored 15 goals and provided 14 assists in all competitions. He was one of the key elements of the Serie A title. And the start of the season looks just as promising. With 7 goals in as many Serie A matchesMarcus Thuram confirms his star status at Inter Milan.

Selon Ekrem Konur, Marcus Thuram is a vital player in Inter Milan’s attack and occupies an important place in the club’s future plans. The Serie A giant sees the 27-year-old as a key piece to the team’s long-term success and therefore has no intention of selling it. Although the idea of adding Thuram to the squad is tempting, Inter Milan’s resolute stance makes transfer difficult while PSG seeks alternatives to strengthen its offensive line.
