VIDEO – In a dramatic incident in Ludhiana, northern India, a mother saved her child as a 100-year-old building collapsed.
A century-old, three-story building collapsed on Tuesday October 1 in the northern Indian city of Ludhiana, injuring a mother and her 2-year-old daughter. CCTV footage captured the moment the woman saved her child by trying to protect him from falling debris.
The video shows a mother fleeing with her child in her arms, trying to avoid falling debris from the building, before being knocked to the ground.
After a violent fall, she manages to get up and quickly move away from the ruined building. Both victims were immediately transported to hospital for emergency treatment.
The accident occurred at Bandeya Mohalla in the old town of Ludhiana in the northern Indian state of Punjab. Several families lived in this old building, which was already in poor condition. Luckily, they decided to leave the scene a day before the collapse, thus avoiding an even greater tragedy.
