“Conversely, long-haul is showing a downward trend,” indicates Frédéric Pilloud, digital director of MisterFly. Not in all countries, but in a certain number.

Air ticket prices are decreasing to (-11%), Japan (-13%), Mauritius (-16%), Brazil (-11%), Indonesia (-8). %). Two distant countries, on the contrary, appear more expensive, and are losing momentum: the United States (+5% on the price side) and Canada (+7%).

These destinations that laugh and cry

The MisterFly barometer also makes it possible to identify destinations that are going up and those that are going down over the past year.

Among the countries which are gaining places in the ranking are Brazil (+6 places), where “the geopolitical context is calmer”, and Morocco (+5), penalized last year by the earthquake. Vietnam (+4) as well as Japan and India (+3 each) benefit from “Asian travel revenge”, underlines Frédéric Pilloud.

Other countries are rather in disgrace such as Mauritius (-7 places, to 22nd place), also in decline in the Orchestra barometer for L’Echo tourisme. The destination gained momentum last year, due to the cessation of many direct flights to its competitor the Dominican Republic.

Canada is backpedaling 4 places. Tunisia, in competition with Morocco, by 3 ranks. Marked by soaring prices (+17%), Portugal also lost 3 places.
