Spectacular heavy goods vehicle accident: logs end up in the garden of a home

A truck transporting logs lost part of its cargo on the D118 in Castelsarrasin, this Monday, October 7 in the morning. Although the incident caused material damage, notably to a guardrail and in the garden of a home, no injuries were reported.

A road accident involving a heavy goods vehicle occurred on the D 118 in Castelsarrasin, Monday October 7, 2024.

Shortly before 9 a.m., a trucker traveling on the Quercy – Gascogne route towards Moissac suddenly lost part of his heavy cargo. The logs then rolled out of the trailer as the truck completed a turn at the intersection of Chemin de Verriès.

In their fall, the logs tore off a guardrail, and another group ended up in the garden of a house. Fortunately, no one was there at the time and no one was injured in this incident.

On site, the police secured the scene before the arrival of roads officers from the Tarn-et-Garonne departmental council who marked out the scene of the disaster. While waiting for the heavy goods vehicle to be towed by a specialized tow truck, traffic lights must be installed on the D 118.

The driver’s blood alcohol test came back negative.
