[Journée nationale des aidants] Les Bobos à la ferme opens a House for helping parents – Face Face

Wednesday October 2, Les Bobos à la ferme inaugurated the House for Helping Parents at Madelaine-sous-, in Pas-de- (62). A new space intended for families of a sick or disabled child. And an additional step in a vast project initiated in 2017 by Élodie d’Andréa and Louis Dransart, parents of a little girl suffering from a rare neurodegenerative disease, who died in May 2024, at the age of 8. A third place designed by caregivers for caregivers.

Les Bobos à la ferme is a respite stay offer for caregivers and their loved ones. Four gîtes opened in 2017, located in Madelaine-sous-Montreuil, a small town in Pas-de-Calais. Then, from year to year, other services were added to the system. On October 2, this third place imagined by Élodie d’Andréa and Louis Dransart inaugurated a House for Helping Parents, to support families. 300 people were present for this event, but also to attend the round tables organized around the issue of caregivers. Reflection on professional peer support fueled the discussions.

Located near the lodges, this building required two and a half years of work. A place designed to welcome parents living in the region, looking for advice in the daily support of a sick or disabled child, minor or adult. “We imagined this house as an additional link in supporting parents in the area, explains Élodie d’Andréa. But there will also be discussions organized by video, as we are in demand from all over . »

Support from a different parenting advisor

Pour sustain This project, the Bobos à la ferme team imagined a tailor-made job: a different parenting advisor (CPD). This professional will provide psycho-social support to parents of sick and/or disabled children. And it will offer leisure activities for families.

Games room, large kitchen, this House is certainly a place of support, mutual aid, listening where caregivers put themselves at the service of other caregivers. But it was also designed as a place to meet up and share good times. “It was a wish of the families, confides Élodie d’Andréa. A place to organize joyful and festive events. ” A Family Day will also take place on October 5, 2024, punctuated by free well-being activities.

Other projects are underway. “We want to open a resource center specializing in medical equipment, where parents can buy second-hand products », she continues. Training also offers support for respite project leaders. Gradually, a real “village” open to caregivers is being built in this town of 180 inhabitants. Perhaps enough to give ideas to other territories…
