A fire broke out along a wall of the Saint-Gabriel church, rue des Pyrénées in Paris (XXth), this Monday evening around 8:30 p.m. learned News17. A large fire brigade was deployed and the fire was quickly brought under control. There are no casualties to report.
“It’s a large pile of rubbish that caught fire for reasons still unknown” tells us the spokesperson for the Paris fire brigade. “This pile was along the north side of the church. There was about 100 square meters of various and varied rubbish, with barriers”. An investigation has been opened to determine the causes of the fire.
Smoke entered the building
A hundred firefighters and nearly 25 devices were sent to the scene after the first calls from witnesses. “We were told of a major fire in the church, which is why the device was important at the start, then it was lightened”, continues the spokesperson. Toxic fumes entered the building and firefighters were ventilating the building as of this writing. A reconnaissance of the scene is also underway, to ensure that no victim remained inside.
According to police sources, before the arrival of the firefighters, several police officers who saw the start of fire, entered the church to get out a woman who was inside. “Bravo and thank you to the brave colleagues.
